So where does WikiLeaks get its leaks from? Are they breaking into government computers, or just intercepting communications? Is there an insider giving them access to confidential documents, or have they actively torturing government officials until they give up their state secrets?

What's up with WikiLeaks?

>> No.2128726

Whistleblowers.

Proof that there are still morally integral people in this world.

People who supply documents to Wikileaks: The unsung heroes of the world, the ones we owe our no-longer-Huxlerian future to.

some dude in the military just burned it all onto CDs and sent it to them

>> No.2128734

There are people in government who give it to them. There are over a million people with a "secret" clearance so it isn't a huge leak.

Except in really hardcore places the computers are pretty badly locked down. The iraq war leak was done by a guy who brought a CDrw to work everyday and burned documents to it every day.

>implying wilikileaks isn't being fed information by intelligence agencies

You haven't asked yourself why all the supposed "leaks" have basically backed up government claims that were made long before wikileaks released the information?

The US has claimed all along that Iran was providing weapons to people in Iraq and Afghanistan, and the wikileaks docs say the same.

The US claims that Pakistans security agencies are harboring and helping the taliban, and the wikileaks docs from before also back up this claim.

The list goes on and on.

>> No.2128804

Too bad they didn't get any Top Secret classified documents. I find it hard to imagine why some people object to wikileaks on principle. I think they have an interesting role to play, to check and balance in this increasingly undemocratic world. However, it might have been wise to be more discriminating on which documents to reveal. I hope there won't be too much trouble in Yemen.

I knew about that accident before wikileaks released the video.

It was reported by the military itself a few weeks after it happened.

The incident was reported by the military. And it was widely reported on by the New York times long before wikileaks even received the video.

>accident lol

What else would you call it? oh let me guess, you're another internet keyboard warrior who will claim that the apache pilot received direct orders to find reporters and kill them.

So wtf am i arguing you for.

Only added value brought by the video was that it looked scandalous to untrained eye (especially the clip that was originally advertised) as it gave people false idea what was going on.
