ITT: Interesting and recent /sci/ related articles.

Please don't squabble over the site that it's linked from. (If a link is posted)

I'll start; A new image from NASA's Wide-field Infrared Survey Explorer shows what looks like a glowing jellyfish floating at the bottom of a dark, speckled sea. In reality, this critter belongs to the cosmos -- it's a dying star surrounded by fluorescing gas and two very unusual rings.

I think those unusual rings are the result or a precursor to a black hole

"Astronomers say the rings are made of dust ejected by the dying pair of stars at the center of NGC 1514. This burst of dust collided with the walls of a cavity that was already cleared out by stellar winds, forming the rings."

Other places might say otherwise.

Yeah, yet another cool looking phenomena caused by gasses and such. Love it. Read an edited article on some science website the other day. cool.

"IMAGINE taking a midnight stroll, your route lit by row upon row of trees glowing a ghostly blue. If work by a team of undergraduates at the University of Cambridge pans out, bioluminescent trees could one day be giving our streets this dreamlike look. The students have taken the first step on this road by developing genetic tools that allow bioluminescence traits to be easily transferred into an organism."

While I'm posting interesting links, here's a good site to watch vides explaining dimensions; http://www.dimensions-math.org/Dim_reg_E.htm
