Career advice?

I'm kind of panicking, I was on track to get into engineering next year, when I _may_ have failed one of my physics papers (one on waves) in my finals, which carries just enough weight to throw me outside of the university criteria. I'm hoping I scraped a pass, but our marking schemes are really fucked up, so I probably didn't. What the fuck do I do, if I do miss out on engineering? I have my calculus exam on Thursday, which I also pretty much have to pass everything in, and well... It seems kind of hopeless if this one, totally fucked up paper means I miss out on the degree I want (by one fucking credit!).

TL;DR: Might have missed out on engineering narrowly, what do?

Do a ton of volunteer work to pad your application.

I already do some, but that's a good point. Is there a way to request an interview usually? I am 99% sure I could charm my way in, or is this really a sign that I'm too dumb for engineering? I do well in chemistry, history, and calculus...

I had complete shit grades all through highschool, but I got acceptance letters from every engineering department I applied for.

I was in the god-tier of Canada's national computer programming contest, and Canada's national science contest, so no-one really cared about my school grades.

Hmm, well New Zealand works a bit differently, and I haven't done anything particularly notable in science that would get me noticed like that. I do extremely well in history, and I enjoy it, but I also enjoy scraping out decent marks in chem, calc, and phys, and knowing I worked twice as hard to get those.

Nice wins though.

nice job faggot.

Now you have ruined your chances of moving to north america. You'll have to spend the rest of your life in New Zealand, or scavenging for work in Australia.

WAY TO GO FAGGOT.

I'm Canadian by birth... So your point is invalid. Care to be helpful?

Could really use some helpful advice, what I've heard so far has been encouraging, but always game for more.

Hi Kiwi,

Fellow Kiwi person here. Firstly our universities are cake so don't worry you'll likely get in even if you don't meet the criteria. also would you be against a) doing a B.Sc in engineer instead of a B.E.? Would you take a paper to make up for missing out on that subject @ school it's a lot easier to pass things at uni imho I was av at math in skool and got A-'s in multi variable calc and linear alg
