Should I do a Computer Science MEng or Software development BSc? I want to become a software/games developer and was wondering what were the pros and cons to each course.

My recommendation is to get a job outside the games industry. Everybody wants to be a game programmer, so the wages are crappy, the benefits suck, and the hours are terrible. Working in less glamorous and attractive industries will serve you better in the long run...

...and they're no more or less "fun" than programming games.

if it takes the same amount of time, get the masters

I recommend CS and ME over "software." CS will have more higher level maths while ME does a lot of fluid dynamics/heat transfer/statics still difficult math, but more concrete in nature. ME is probably the best choice.

I think I'm going to do EE. Involves a bit of computers, a bit of physics, and bit of math. I love all three.

You should do it too OP.

I probably would get a different job which is why I'm leaning towards the computer science since its broader. It takes an year extra but that year is placement based research. I also like the idea of having MEng after my name makes me sound like an asian emperor.
