A boat goes 280 miles downstream in the same time it can go 210 miles upstream. The speed of the current is 6 miles per hour. Find the speed of the boat in still water. Anyone know how to solve this?

cancer hw thread.
I'll hint anyway.
(V+6) * t = 280
(V-6) * t =210
find V*t, and remember not2cancer

the speed of the boat plus water going downstream is S+6
the speed of the boat minus water going upstream is S-6
it took a time 'T' to travel 280 miles downstream
so 280/(S+6) = T
it took the same time 'T' to travel 210 miles upstream so 210/(S-6)
T = T
you can take it from here?
