The brain is a physical object.
It obeys the same clockwork physical laws as everything else in the universe.

WE ARE NOT STARTING THIS.

Oh how wrong you are.

I know that on the quantum level you get probability distributions that may be the result of true randomness.

However, this isn't an example of the human brain controlling the outcome.

Indeed OP..
However, that does NOT imply that it obeys the laws as we know them.
It is certain that it obeys the laws of the universe, but there is no reason to believe that our interpretations are correct, or that our equations even cover 1% of what is to be known.

Therefore there is no reason to believe that the brain is even possible to be understood by a brain... ;)

In fact it seems just as likely that it is impossible for our minds to fully comprehend themselves, and considering what you initially said that our minds are just subject to the same laws that govern the universe, by extension it is a possibility that we may never fully understand all of the laws of the universe. (or what lies beyond..)

Samefag.
SHUT UP OP.

Think of it as this:

The brain uses the same atoms, molecules, cells, that follow the processes of every other of its kind, yet when you learn something, when you pick up information, knowledge, when you change behavior, the micro world inside must be changing too. Every time you learn something, do your brain cells completely rearrange? Do the macromolecules inside change due to KNOWLEDGE. HOW FUCKING POWERFUL IS KNOWLEDGE? IS IT ACTUALLY INFLUENCING THE PHYSICAL WORLD IN SUCH A UNIQUE, COMPLEX WAY!?!?

The cells don't rearrange but their projections do. They create new ones, destroy old ones, and enhance ones that get used a lot. There's nothing mystical about it either, it's all due to chain of signal cascades.

lol umm, no I am 2036161 ONLY, that is my first post here.. I am not the OP either...
If you had half a brain you would realize that I sort of go against what the OP was saying and also affirm it, I take both sides...

next time read maybe?
