If there are no changes in the oxidation state of the reactants or products of a particular reaction, that reaction is not a redox reaction.

mfw no chem fags are on /sci/ and someone will take this faggot OP's post as fact and miss it on an exam

mfw lol

OP please explain to me why this would upset chemfags, as I am an antichemfag.

Chemists classify chemical reactions in various ways. Often a major classification is based on whether or not the reaction involves oxidation-reduction. A reaction may be classified as redox in which oxidation and reduction occur or nonredox in which there is no oxidation and reduction occurring.

It is essentially supposed to make a chem fag question them self, try to find errors in their thinking and then realise that they were right all along and a troll that was trolling with a general accepted fact was successful because the chem fag questioned them-self.

Not OP, but that is the only logical reason someone would post that on /sci/ with a "coolface" as its picture attachment.

tl;dr OP is a fag and a counter troll?

Oh thanks, I get it. I vaguely remember the words "redox reaction" from chemistry in my sophomore year in high school, didn't bother to remember anything from that though.
