Whats the liquid that this mouse is in? The liquid is semi-permeable to oxygen, so you can breathe in it. I know it's an organic compound that has fluorine in it, but I can't think of the name right now. I want to say perfluorocarbon, but I feel like it's something else. Anyone?

crystals are pretty cool, i can imagine some people would be curious enough to try and make them. i did myself when i was younger, but out of saltwater and food colouring...didn't work very well...
peoples first instincts would not be that someone is trying to kill them over the internet, most people are usually trusting at first sight (or text) and give people the benefit of the doubt. on the internet, i have the opposite method; i presume everyone is a cunt until they can prove otherwise.

Yes some things like caesium chloride from internet, stuff like vanadium pentoxide, lithiumcarbonate, chromiumsalts are from a local potteryshop (it's also used in glazing the pottery), and some things are just from the lab. I know the man from the chemicals inventory, and sometimes somthing gets "out of date" like permanganate, while it's still very good stuff, or sulfuric acid, because some chemical have very accurate molarities, and after opening some times and using them, the concentration gets inacurate, which makes it useless for analytical chemistry. you fucking moron... you can build a hood with 40 bucks:

go to OSH or Home Depot, go to the section where they sell central heating stuff (like insulated tubing)...

find a pyramidal shaped vent housing.

go to the bathroom section and get the cheapest bathroom in-line ceiling vent fan you can.

get some tubing... connect fan to pyramidal vent housing, connect tubing to fan, connect other end of tubing to a hole in the wall or just pipe it outside

works fine so long as you are not working with anything significantly flammable (gotta get brushless/sparkless fan for that).

also get a fucking real lab set, and start using a reflux condenser.

get some big syringes and fill em up with NaOH pellets, and cap it with cotton, then close up everything with septums and pierce the septum with a needle that connects to the acid filtering NaOH plug

jesus christ this is basic ass lab skills. I learned this in my 2nd Gen-chem lab.

I am not refluxing my tetryl, it must maintain a steady 70 degrees celsius. I use moistured cotton wool to seal the part between the dropping funnel and the erlenmeyer, and that absorbs nitrous oxides and SO3 really well. Using reflux condensers for nitrations is useless, the vapours will escape because they're gases, and not liquid at room temperature, they're just really soluable in water, hence the moistured cotton wool.
