Yea most programming jobs are in the city. Seattle has even more jobs but Portland is a cooler town (of course I'm biased). There are a lot of tech companies in Hillsboro, a suburb of Portland, it's closer to the coast than Portland proper. Hillsboro is where Intel HQ is. When would you be moving?

I go to Tech. Not much for science, I know, but UTSA was too close to home and it's not so much of a party school as Texas State, or ASU, etc. Also, for obvious reasons A&M is a little too... right for me, and not enough money for private universities. Also, as a /sci/entist, any university associated with a religion was a little off-putting for me (that and I went to private schools for most of my life), otherwise I would've just gone to St. Ed's
