Is the end goal of statistics to predict the future or rather the alternatives of the future?

If simple alternatives like coin flips and dice rolls can be calculated then are there really extant alternate outcomes for our universe?

I never get the phrase "alternate universe". Seems to me the term universe covers it. Alternate universes would just be places in this universe that look similar to what we observe.

No. The goal of statistics is to gather collect, and interpret data. Predictions are one of several applications, and stats unlike math gets to play fast and loose with its predictions, by making predictions and telling how likely they are, instead of absolute certainty based axioms.
