Sup /sci/... Was just doing some work on acoustic impedance. Obviously the velocity of the sound and density of material are needed to e known.. this got me thinking: What is the speed of sound in a vacuum? Thanks in advance.

tl;dr - What's the speed of sound in a vacuum.

0, it can't travel in a vacuum

what this guys said. sound is not like light. sound needs air to travel on

There is actually a theory that a pressure wave can travel in a vacuum because a vacuum is not really a vacuum (it's quantum soup)
