Why the FUCK hasn't anybody thought of this yet?

That car battery isn't used for what you think it's used for.

>> No.1957464

That's incredibly stupid. You'll kill your battery. The battery only recharges if the engine is running. You may not need to pay another electric bill, but your gas will be enormous. Also take into consideration that a car battery does not supply the same voltage.

Translation- fail.

They're called generators you clown.

My dad has a small generator. We talked about the feasability of plugging a double male ended extension cord into the generator and into an outlet in the wall, in order to power his house.

You would have to cut the power from the street, and probably also cut off a few circuits in the circuit breaker box, but it seems like it would work.

Ok.

There's an expensive switch for doing that, and they're required for any home power generation where you plan to feed power back onto the grid. But generally you aren't going to like the gas costs involved with running a generator, UNLESS you use very little power and don't want the monthly bill. Unlikely unless you cook and heat with LP/NatGas and don't have an AC.

His plan was to work out a system in case they lost power on their block for an extended period of time.

it's not impossible to travel faster than the speed of light. it's just that if you do, you won't be able to see shit.

Also, tachyons move faster than the speed of light.

>> No.1957718

other than minor voltage like a ton of suggestions above. i think that gasoline in the end will be way more expensive than the electricity bill, plus all the inconvenience of having to move stuff around everytime you wanna go for a ride

That's not the reason why, the speed of light only applies to particles and mass, meaning that once you achieve it you lose all your mass and become energy (this also kills you so fast you won't even experience it).

the first rule of science is to never deal in absolutes. all 'proofs' only bring you closer to converting those theories to truths but they will never be the ultimate truth.

No, reaching the speeds that mass is no longer capable of handling is what kills you, you just have poor reading comprehension.
