I wish I had math skills

complex equations make me feel like I'm fucking retarded! Although at the same time, I want to have a general understanding of it.

But fuck it looks hard!

I am atrocious at math and often struggle with doing simple math in my head.

I only come to this board for science and space-related threads for it doesn't really phase me.

protip: most things involving bunches of equations is probably not mathematics and doesn't really require much math skills, just symbol maniuplation.

>> No.1899059

math is great and impervious to corruption; dishonesty only compounds one's inability to learn and communicate it. Not asking questions is the only thing that makes you dumb (as a function over time).

perseverance is recommended

I also mostly come here for space-stuff. Always hated math and when I see obviously show-off math threads I just laugh at the time wasted.

Lol, math is so easy.

Go buy a few books and start learning. You have to learn to do things for yourself son.

>> No.1899109

Don't worry about it. I have been diagnosed with Asperger Syndrome. I can easily and quickly do math and programming and shit like that, but I suck at everything else. I can't do even simple tasks without fucking up and I doubt I will ever get laid.

>> No.1899113

Don't stress. You're not required to be good at everything.

I can do basic mathematics well but I find long, symbol filled equations to be largely impenetrable. If I spend time I can understand them and work with them (I've had to for my education), but it really takes conscious effort and I hate it.

But on the other hand, I grasp conceptual stuff very easily and often find myself teaching my peers.

Even if you don't have some special skill that you're good at, that doesn't make you dumb. It just means you're not exceptional.

Yeah, it's like that for literally everything when you're still learning it. Remember learning to ride a bike? Do you still have to think about it now?

Basically, it always gets easier.
