What would happen if gravity just disappeared?

>> No.1896794

uneducated dumbfuck here,
does gravity keep planets together?
or are they kinda fused together at this point?

>> No.1896805

the sun would explode your face

>> No.1896824

>>1896794
I would say very much fused now, rocks in space despite having near 0 gravity don't just explode. So earth would float aimlessly in space, and the atmosphere would quickly float off into space. Pretty disastrous still.

>> No.1896830

no atmosphere....we would die

>> No.1897171

No gravitational pull = We're boned.

>> No.1897205

we would inflate and become goop

>> No.1897348

Your internal organs would come out through your nose

>> No.1897370

gravity is the weakest force, so not much would happen to space overall, im comparison with space only having forces of gravity.

but what if the sun stops emitting gravity? would the earth stay in orbit for 8 minutes? Last I heard sciencemen were saying gravity only travels at the speed of light

>> No.1897374

It would not not exist as it already exists.

>> No.1897466

>>1896824
not quite. Remember that the earth is mostly liquid. The crust kinda just sits on the mantle. The crust would probably be held to much of the magma due to surface tension, but the liquid would just kinda be a blob and eventually freeze. Also the sun would cease being itself.

>> No.1897480

The biggest thing you'd notice is the sun instantly going supernova, because the only thing keeping it in shape is it's own gravity.

>> No.1897484

>>1897370
The sun would explode. Would be a awesome instant in time to live in, if we perceive the fireworks of earth being shattered by the shock wave.

>mfw science destroys the law of gravity, all stars go supernova
What would happen to blackholes tho?

>> No.1897509

DUDE. Anti-gravity in black holes.
