Well the basic postulates for QM are about unitary evolution of a system, then there is this one about measurements causing wave function collapse - but a measuring device is just a (huge compound of smaller) quantum system(s) so shouldn't we be able to derive these ideas about measurement and wave function collapse from the postulates about a closed QM system?
