/sci/, what is the biological cause for ageism?
What is it about younger/older people that we feel awkward associating with/dating/befriending?
You know, the whole "find people your own age" statement's origin.
Is it some sort of an uncanny valley reaction of the brain towards any person which it deems to not be within a +-2 year range of our own?
Does anyone know?

There is no biological cause. You're describing social constructs.

Im guessing your still pretty young, cause +-2 years is only noticeable at a young age. Most people dont mind +-15 years, cause thats when differences become obvious at older ages. However, I dont think theres some secret thing going on, its just obvious why we would want to hang out with people our own age. Theyre more likely to be similar to us in almost every respect, health and interests.

Frankly, its obvious, its kind of like asking, why are we not attracted to people that have gross deformities, its freaking obvious.

people from 15-30 are physically about the same, and if you are at the younger end of that range and people that are in their 20s don't want to associate with you it is because you are an immature irl newfag.
