I think it's a crime that Professor Trollface didn't get the Nobel prize. Through his contribution he has single-handedly revolutionised almost all field of Physics, yet he never lost sight of the plight of the common man and many of his inventions benefit the people at large, and not only a few scientists who are studying that subject.

That's actually conceivably what could happen. Sure, the light from a laser pointing forward on a ship travelling at near light speed would be hella blueshifted, but the photon density would be increased compared to what it would be in front of the same laser not moving at all. Right? Photons can't be particles unless they act like particles.

Important to travel in 1 year increments, if anyone learns how to travel in time. Unless your version of time travel keeps you in physical contact with what your connected to at the time of time warping. Otherwise, better be safe than sorry.

it won't freeze in space but rather vaporize, second the difference in pressure is a total of 1 atmosphere, lets say the pipe has a cross section of 1 m^2 then you have around a hundred thousand newtons force. 1 kg in earths gravity experiences 1 newton force, and a cubic meter of water weighs 100 kg, so you might be able to get the water to raise up by one kilometer (that's if you place the tube there with no atmosphere inside it, atmosphere in the tube would just be the same as not having a tube at all) 3/4 of the atmosphere is within 11 km, you are no where near space. However the expansion of the water into the vacuum inside the tube would cause some cooling to be done, but not much.
