Hello /sci/, I have a question. My teacher said that the Sn for a geometric (1 - r^(n+1))/(1-r), while my book says Sn = (a*(1-r)^n)/(1-r) where a is the starting value. Are these the same? Or am I confusing two different equations? Or is one of these wrong? Thank you /sci/

Sorry, it should read, "Sn for a geometric series = (1 - r^(n+1))/(1-r)"
