i read that, and immediately regretted it, not because it was written badly (it was actually a good read), but because the tech already exists to make such a future in the first half happen. All it will take is someone seeking more profits and then we are all fucked.

Hmm, what was the momentum of Mr. Heisenberg when passing by that wall?

Heisenberg is out for a nice drive, when he gets pulled over by a cop. The cop asks him, "Do you know how fast you were going?" Heisenberg replies, "No, but I know where I am."

Kinda fix'd it for ya. Anyways,it's more of a bastardization of both of their theories in OP's pic.

Looking for fiction or non-fiction OP?

Fiction:
Dune series (Frank Herbert -- not the SHIT by Brian Herbert)
Brave New World (Huxley)
Nineteen Eighty-Four (Orwell)
Ghost in the Shell (Shirow)
Foundation series (Asimov)
Starship Troopers, The Moon is a Harsh Mistress (Heinlein)

Non-fiction:
The Fabric of the Cosmos (Greene)
The Selfish Gene, The Extended Phenotype (Dawkins)
Surreal Numbers (Knuth. Actually half-fiction. Pretty cool book that doesn't afraid of anything.)
Cosmos (Sagan)
QED (Feynman)
Fermat's Enigma, The Code Book (Singh)

Those are some essentials I can think of off the top of my head.

Do you guys remember that scene in Iron Man 2, when Iron Man and War Machine are in that dome thing, about to fight Whiplash?

War Machine SHOOTS Whiplash, there was a bang, so I'm assuming an sonic boom happened. War Machine is standing no more than 60 meters from Whiplash. And this is being generous.

If the speed of sound is about 343 m/s in dry air, then it would take at most .17 seconds for the bullet to reach Whiplash, yet he has more than enough time to react and pull his helmet down.

There are about a million laughable things that could never happen in this movie, but this one bothered me.

Does this happen to anyone else?
