If aliens have a religion that is uncannily like our own, that would certainly help the case for the truth of any religion. If it is more different from our religions than any of them are from each other, then it would hurt the case for religion.

If they have no idea about religion whatsoever, then we should put the whole matter to rest and accept that religion is what happens when humans don't understand the world well enough.
