>> No.1817597

You don't need to move the second mirror faster than the speed of light if the first mirror is far enough away.

It would work if you're using a laser or a set of lasers and perfect mirrors. As said, you don't need to be faster then the speed of light, but you'll need some effing good mirrors or else everything would just be adsorbed and turned to heat.

>> No.1817614

Only way this would work is in the ideal environment of perfect vacuum and you would need perfect mirrors (reason behind this is any particles, gaseous or otherwise would deflect/absorb the light and also the perfect mirror would have to be such that no energy from the light was ever absorbed or deflected in other directions -- neither of these have ever been shown to exist in reality)

to OP, for that to also anywhere near work the torch would have to be made of infinite number of bulbs/light sources, since normally the light would just radiate outwards with only one possible beam going perpendicular to the mirror

If you did this at absolute zero temperature where the speed of light is around 38mph.....then you could do it.

I also wanted to compose a powerful rush of wind within a 20 sided burning glass.

Concave lenses diffracting light within a mirrored tube building up like a capacitor. When after a time it is released, a powerful beam of photons emerges.

Agreeing with Anonymous, the majority of the light would be lost into the atmosphere, as light is extremely uneficiant.
