I'm a transhumanist. I believe that humans will eventually surpass this ridge of evolution and transcend to achieve immortality, a fuller conscience, and greater knowledge and wisdom.

Sure, I probably won't live to save myself from my chains of mortality. I'll most likely die before immortality is achieved. I may not even make any famous discoveries and be forgotten in the great archive of time. But at least I will die happy knowing that I helped the children of the future to live the perfect, godlike life they will experience for eternity.

May humanity be blessed.

too bad the Goa'uld and the humans that haven't achieved ascension and every other race will use our inventions, mainly the planetary transport system, just to wage war on each other

think, if your under 50, your actually about 70% (i just made that up, going from my vast quantities of reading and other bullshit that i do instead of have a life) likely to see your 150th birthday, and im assuming by that point, youd realize immortality sucks.

see any article about immortality, and it will tell you why.

or ill list some,
TIME FLIES REALLY FAST AT AGE 10K
all your friends are dead, all your family is dead,
your body sucks, unless its replaced, have fun being a head in a jar!

No one will ever be immortal, everyone will live and die on Earth. Your soul, however, isn't subject to death, unlike the mortal body that currently houses it.

I'm a transhumanist too, but I'm honestly getting tired of these threads. I've argued my views and expressed my specific "brand" of transhumanism many times, to do so again would just be tolling.

Why the hell would you not replace your body? Why the hell would you not hook said jar up to computational complexes? Also, I can imagine immortals would band together, seeking more reliable, longer lived company.

To hell with banding together. We'll fuse together, abandoning individuality like we did our bodies, and become a conglomerate entity.

Then we'll hide out in dark space for 50 billion years while life grows, then come back and burn it all to the ground just for kicks.

Dohohoho I see wat u did thar.
While I wouldn't be HORRIBLY opposed to this (if it was forced on me or something) I'd likely still prefer to retain my individuality.

If you dont think these threads are realistic I would honestly like to hear about your "brand" if transhumanism, as I'm a subscriber to OP's thinking but it doesnt make me the happiest.

This. Just a Green Oval archive link of an old post would do.
