Just did some statistical analysis of climate trends. Two weather stations around Adelaide, Rayville Park and Strathalbyn.

Found the mean temperature 1910-2009, then for 1990-2009.

The mean temperature has risen by 0.44 degrees celsius in the last 100 years, with a significance level of 0.01%.

Climate change is real, bitches.

I don't think half a degree counts as "climate change". It was the same climate then and now. With nearly identical average temperatures.

Point is there is only a minute possibility of this being due to chance. It shows a definite non-random change.

>Climate Change

The new phrase is "Global Climate Disruption".

(a) it's ausfag land so nobody cares
(b) your suggesting that recording accuracy has remained constant
(c) your talking about 0.44 'C, not even half a degree
(d) your assuming that the rest of /sci/ believes your capable of obtaining accurate data and performing the neccessary arithmetic
(e) this is /sci/, your argument does not relate to religion or evolution, hence your argument is invalid
(f) OP is a fag.

That's fine. I didn't say it was chance. I said it wasn't climate change. Climate is the same.

Oh, this is australia? Well, Australia actually has had climate change in the form of drought, which might have lead to the temp increase. The drought well-established as being because of the increasing magnitude of the El Nino effect. We don't know why the El Nino effect has been increasing, though.

I didn't say it was negligible. I said it didn't constitute a change in climate, which it didn't. Fags should have stuck to the "global warming" terminology, so they had a leg to stand on. Except that this is an example of local warming. You're left with "warming".

NO SHIT, there has always been climate change. It was there long before humans evolved, and it will be there long after we are extinct.

OP here.

I got my data from here

http://reg.bom.gov.au/climate/change/datasets/datasets.shtml

And yeah it's just around the Adelaide area, but I wasn't trying to analyse global temperatures. That's already been done a thousand times over.

>> No.1775591

Hey OP, if you wanted to expand on this for school or whatever, there's a software which has all the records for the whole of australia. i don't remember what it was called yet though, too busy watching batman.

Ya know what I don't get... climate has do with all aspects of weather over a period of time not just temperature right? So why is temperature data the only data ever mentioned?
