You are now aware that, accepting the extended phenotype as a valid concept, a city is as natural and as much a product of natural selection and evolution, as is a beaver dam or an anthill, and that failure to acknowledge this is blasphemy against Our Lords Richard Dawkins and Carl Sagan.

Natural vs. artificial in this context never made sense to me either. It's all made out of the same atoms, there is nothing "unnatural" in the universe.

Subsentient construct / sentient construct, for example, would make much more sense from a terminology point of view.
