Men often feel as if women are there inferiors, but are they justified? My argument is yes, although that does not necessarily mean that women are lesser beings. I have come to find that the reason many men hold women to be below them is that most women are lacking in the qualities (compared to men) that men value uniquely. Honor, courage, bravery, work ethic, sense of duty, ambition, fairness, justice, well-placed modesty, practicality, etc. This not to say that women are lesser beings, only that if all women were suddenly turned into men, they would still be greatly disliked by the male population because they lack what men value. As humans, women are not less, just different. They value different qualities that are not as "noble" as the ones that men value. A woman is unlikely to fight in a war simply because of a sense of duty, or because her honor is at stake. A woman is unlikely to come to a rational, fairly-judged conclusion because she values the interests of herself and her friends above any other. To men, this may seem childish and disgusting, but it is just different. What are your thoughts /sci/?

I really haven't considered them. Obviously this is about "averaged" behavior and values, and not gender. It just so happens that these values tend to correlate with certain genders. I would say it's probably the same. you don't see a lot of really effeminate men hanging out with very masculine men, and you don't see very masculine women hanging out with very effeminate women. My point is to dispel the idea of sexism as a belief of "inferiority," rather than a case of conflicting personalities. I would also say that there have to be jobs that women cannot perform as well as men, and vice-versa.

Not OP, but I remember reading something about how estrogen or testosterone levels in the womb shape the brain to value different things when the baby matures. In this study, tomboyish girls held adventure, honor, duty, and justice in higher standing than very effeminate girls, and the same held true for males.
