Theist here. Religious people take this stuff too seriously. You can't take the Bible literally.

Imagine you are an extradimensional being describing the big bang to very primitive minds who are just becoming sapient. You don't say "the universe came from an infinitely small point that expanded with infinite energy and speed". You just say "let there be light", because their brains wouldn't understand it.
