is there any basis for love at first sight?

You must first define 'love'.

Based on a song I heard, love is "baby don't hurt me, don't hurt me, no more"

ove at first sight is in fact love at first smell, that feeling of sudden passion that you have to find a person is purely hormonal, chemical stuff doing what they were genetically designed to do.

OP here,
what if you can't smell,
and love as in when you first see them, you want them, for no reason at all?

>what if you can't smell

Bump, due to allergies my sense of smell is utter garbage.

I think there is, you can often tell a lot about someone from a first glance, thus I think there is a basis for it. However I think there are more than enough exceptions to that to say that anyone who has experienced "love at first sight" was just dumb luck.
