The universe is infinite. It never ends.

>> No.1726501

>>1726489

obviously, its true by definition

universe = totality of all that exists

if x exists, it is subsumed into the universe

therefore nothing can exist beyond the universe

ipso facto universe has no limits, constraints, etc

>> No.1726503

One day we started viewing it not knowing what it was

And we'll continue viewing it forever just because

>> No.1726497

it just goes on and on my friends?

Some people started living in it, just because.

>> No.1726509

Nope.

It ends.

Only because you're human and your technology is incapable of intergalactic travel you don't have to drag the rest of us down.

what is that stupid circle in the middle that says "virgo supercluseter?

it looks the same as the rest of it.

>> No.1726515

OP you may be right, I don't think there is any evidence to suggest the universe is finite (?).

>> No.1726521

>>1726509
why would an infinite universe "drag you down"?

if anything, the opposite would be true.

It has been proven mathematically that the universe is mostly flat and extends forever. The "closed universe" and "curved universe" hypothesis have been refuted by observed information
>implying I'm going to cite any of this

>> No.1726528

It never ends, as it is boundless. But it is finite. And the universe is not everything that exists. The universe is the spacetime we're in and its contents.

Some people started charting it not knowing what it was,
and they'll continue charting it forever just because....

That's because the universe is a fractal.

HERP DERP DURP THE UNIVERSE IS LIKE... A FRACTAL, AND LIKE... BECAUSE LIKE ATOMS, ARE LIKE SOLAR SYSTEMS, AND THERE MIGHT BE LIKE... TINY PEOPLE LIVING ON THOSE ATOMS AND THEY HAVE ATOMS TOO.

TRIPPY SHIT BRO HERP HERP

universe is finite and flat. I forgot what doctor said that, there is an hour long video of him giving a lecture on youtube somewhere.

DUDE! Why don't we like convince the tiny people we are like god, or something, and to like make them make tiny atom sized supercomputers for us. And then we like promise to let them go free if they convince the tiny people in their atoms to make supercomputers the size of their atoms, repeating the process ad infinitum until we have a computer the size of an atom capable of infinite computational power.

DANDY!

Suppose you were at the edge of the universe, travelling at or greater than c. Now imagine you could magically warp past the edge.

No matter how far you went outside of the universe, wherever you appeared you would become the edge of the universe. Now you see why the universe has no end.

>> No.1726921

The universe is finite and flat but it's infinitely expanding. So it essentially is infinite but not really

Hello there. Your people don't have the measuring device yet is all. It goes like this in the pic...your people, they can't see the limits in either direction outward or inward, this is another dimension your people are not seeing like the like light spectrum thing, it was there, there is more, you can't see it, and waves and magnetism, they are all cycles, spinning wheels round and round, this is the universe, your people can't see it yet. If you went in one direction, inward is easiest, you can see, other universes! You cannot communicate becasue they are in the other dimension, inside them...your people, someday...life is a donut OK? Your mission is to get out, and on to the next donut...
