I find it interesting that this entire board is devoted to the bashing creationists and religious people, and that maybe 1%(a generous estimate) of the posts have anything to do with science or math.

I bring this to your attention because I would like to make you aware of the fact that none of you are actually smart enough to have an intelligent discussion on the supposed topic of this board, and resort to making fun of easy targets to perpetuate your artificially high opinions of yourselves.

Fantastic. Another thread stating the obvious to a bunch of fucktards who don't give a fuck.

Bravo.

>> No.1719089

It used to be a little more intellectual here. A bunch of 15 year olds who watched too much Venture Brothers think they're superscientists and come here to glorify science rather than discuss anything scientific.

You've got a bad attitude.

I think people that come to /sci/ are marginalized or even outcast irl, so when there's a place friendly to them, they jump at the chance to show off what they know. And the easiest way to do that is by saying someone else is wrong. Unfortunately no one here is an actual, rigorous scientist, so a lot of the "you're an idiot, what ACTUALLY happens is" is wrong, so more people jump in to prove that THEY know the right answer, etc. Fertile ground for trolls.

I've only ever seen two threads with original research on them, and one of them was mine. The other was an "answer this list of questions and i'll compile the stats" thread.

To summarize: we only talk about subjective argument, speculations and science-fiction. That's quite correct sir! I'm sorry if you got mislead by the boards name.

Quite true, although we arent resorting to it. We choose to do it cause its fun. The real problem is that there isnt a religion/philosophy board.

OP here, while I concede this thread is hypocritical, I really don't think what my point was all that obvious to most people here.

I resent philosophy being lumped in with religion.

>> No.1719178

lol, I left /sci/ for a few weeks, whats up with people posting their pictures?

Agreed, but its a step closer to religion than science is.

Also less than 0.1% are dedicated to natural sciences, and less than 0,01% to non-theoretical physics.

>> No.1719273

You're right. Whenever I ask something about science, such as the quantum eraser experiment, I get no answers.

I think this is because most people here are high school students who don't actually know shit.

There are some notable exceptions, like Josef, but that's it.

As much as I like having him around, I wish he wasn't a namefag. With names we're just a forum. Anonymity precludes pride/arrogance.

Precludes? No. I still get off on coming across smart as an anon. I don't mind arrogance as long as discussions are interesting and questions are answered.

That's what I believed before lurking /sci/.

There is deeper meaning to things then just accumulating knowledge.
