So Whats Your Views On The Rubix Cube My Best Time Was 30 Seconds

>> No.1689669

I prefer GO, Battletech, and roleplaying games.

Just as trivial as nigger ball sports.

I starting to think I'm the only nerd who doesn't have weird hobbies.

The algorithm for a 3-cube is pretty easy to memorize. Rubik's makes 4-and 5-cubes now and those are MUCH harder to solve. You can get bigger ones off ebay but they're 3rd-party manufacturers so I dunno about the quality.

>>1689686
What? No they're not. The four- and five-cubes require a grand total of two new algorithms between them. Relatively short ones, too. I have up through seven- (yeah, I'm a nerd) and, while larger cubes obviously take longer, they're none of them more than 20% harder than the three.

that shit is easy to solve bro. my best time is around 30 seconds aswell. but thats just a speed thing you get with practice. the actual algorithoms arent hard concepts man. Why you flaunting your shinanigans?

Where can I get one?

>> No.1690125

The dodecahedron posted is a *minx. 1 layer, mega, 2 layers, giga, 3, tera etc. The silver one is the bump cube. Cubes bigger than 5 are made by V-cube. Less than 5 you want a Eastsheen. To those saying the 3 isn't hard, it isnt when you use the begginers method, 4-5 algorithms in total, however the Friedrich method (used for sub 10 solves) requires around 150 algs in total. 9.4* second master race reporting in.

>> No.1690147

My best is 30 seconds, too. I'm using the F2L, but I haven't gotten around to learning the OLL/PLL (or any other methods, for that matter.)

I have the 3x3, 5x5, and the mirror 3x3.

P.S. Funny, too, I posted a thread just like this - Only Without The Middle School Capital-Word Style Of Writing - and all I got was "enjoy your useless talent", "nice waste of time", etc. I guess it depends on when you post.

>> No.1690937

I did the rubix cube once when I was a kid. It took me about an hour of me absent mindedly fiddling with one while watching TV.

>> No.1690956

It is a neat little toy that people shouldn't spend this much time on.

>> No.1690958

i know someone who holds many national records, and has a sub-10 best time.
my personal best is only a minute
I can solve all the twisty puzzles except the square-1
