Just spitballing here, but I think it isn't that a creature like Godzilla "couldn't" exist. It's just the way he's set up would have to be very anatomically convoluted on the inside, and evolution has so many more practical ways of dealing with all the issues you'd have to account for that like >>16542231 said, he's more likely to look like that rather than being twisted in improbable ways.

If you wanted to make Godzilla real, I think you'd have to biologically engineer him in a lab on purpose in a very guided, deliberate way. Sort of like breeding a dog.
