Hey, bit of a mechanical question here. Are all analog radio signals pretty much the same? What I'm wondering is, can I get a receiver that will allow me to just scan from one end of the radio spectrum to the other? And I don't mean like FM and AM, like can I go all the way through CB radio and listen to wifi static and stuff too? How does this work?

You mean you just want to get the raw signal without demodulating it?

It would probably be hard without breaking it down. That is, it's usually done with discrete bands, by having switching to different discrete capacitors for different continuous ranges you want to scan. But yes, you could build a device that covers the whole radio range, including TV and such. I'm sure none are commercially available, as there's no use for that.
