Ummmm anon...you're trying here to imply that carnivory causes a low IQ?
I know your vegan starved brain finds this a hard one to comprehend but it actually doesn't tell us anything about the effects of any sort of diet on intellectual capacity, a classical example of correlation not equating to causation.
Yet multiple robust experimental studies have demonstrated the direct effects of deficiencies in compounds only or primarily sourced from meat consumption leading to cognitive impairment.

>> No.16116872

>>16116857
Right, so we can't say anything about any sort of diet's effect on intellectual capacity, except we can?
Look dude, all I'm saying is that the people who insist on eating meat for every meal and make it part of their identity and bitch about vegans existing even if they don't have to personally interact with any of them tend not to be the most intelligent people. And on the other hand most of the highly intelligent people I know are vegan or vegetarian. Anecdotal evidence? Sure, but more compelling than OP's.

>I'm not really aware of many people who make meat consumption their ideology
The mere mention of not eating meat with every meal or using meat substitutes tends to bring them out. There is a very clear correlation between political identity, IQ, and eating meat. Once eating less meat became associated with progressivism, eating more meat became part of conservative political identity. And conservatism is the one associated with lower IQ, of course.

Anon you have a very jumbled up politicised view of the world.
If people can look at the data on the benefits of meat consumption and the problems with plant consumption and still be vegan or vegetarian then by definition I don't think they can be considered intelligent.
I find people like you quite outrageous.

>If people can look at the data on the benefits of meat consumption and the problems with plant consumption and still be vegan or vegetarian then by definition I don't think they can be considered intelligent.
So intelligence is an objective measure when it comes to judging the benefits of meat consumption but it's your subjective judgement when it comes to judging individual choices? Just like earlier when we couldn't judge any diet except when we could. I don't think anyone who makes a shitty fallacious argument like this can be considered intelligent and I know which side of the debate you're on, so what does that tell us? I find you quite outrageous as well.

To recap: your stance is that veganism reduces IQ and that is why vegans are objectively unintelligent.
But when I say that the highest-IQ people I know who are employed in scientific fields are vegan, then you say that you don't "consider" them intelligent because they don't share your views on veganism, which is begging the question.
But then, if someone with a high IQ can be "considered" unintelligent, the link between IQ and intelligence, the one thing it's supposed to measure, breaks down entirely, and your conclusion which was entirely based on that no longer holds.
Thus you undermine the only grounds you have to conclude that veganism makes people unintelligent in the first place and it becomes obvious that you were always going to maintain this regardless of factual reality for reasons that are your own.

>> No.16117178

>>16117032
>To recap: your stance is that veganism reduces IQ and that is why vegans are objectively unintelligent.
No, I think the scientific evidenc eis quite clear that vegan diets outside of strict supplementation and balancing fail to provide a satisfactory diet to promote optimal brain and bodily function, I also am of the opinion that if one is unable to determine this for oneself and still be raucously vegan then one is not actually intelligent and merely caught in a cult
>But when I say that the highest-IQ people I know who are employed in scientific fields are vegan, then you say that you don't "consider" them intelligent because they don't share your views on veganism, which is begging the question.
It is likely they have not studied the clear dietary eveidence that veganism is simply harmful to the body but I suspect as previously stated there is some form of ideology whether conscious or not which is guiding their dietary decisions.
>But then, if someone with a high IQ can be "considered" unintelligent, the link between IQ and intelligence, the one thing it's supposed to measure, breaks down entirely, and your conclusion which was entirely based on that no longer holds.
Those with a somewhat higher IQ can be or at least the upper midwit range are less inclined to think for themselves, take how this is the primary social group that seems able to be mind controlled into going against their ethnic self interests.
>Thus you undermine the only grounds you have to conclude that veganism makes people unintelligent in the first place and it becomes obvious that you were always going to maintain this regardless of factual reality for reasons that are your own.
No, vegan diets outside of strict supplementation categorically lead to reduced bodily functional fitness.

You stated without objective evidence as if it were somehow a fact that those on what you considered your side of the political spectrum were more intelligent.

The claim here is about IQ. You are still using "intelligence" interchangeably to mean "high IQ" and "does things I think are smart", depending on the needs of your argument. But then, you're also convinced that everyone who disagrees with you is a brainwashed mind-controlled cultist (but presumably you're a free thinker immune to propaganda, right?).

>But then, if someone with a high IQ can be "considered" unintelligent, the link between IQ and intelligence ... breaks down entirely
This is exactly the problem.
You seem to think that high IQ and being an academic leads to some magic universal truth that everybody should obviously believe.
It is very clear that there are very intelligent people, with academic track records, and likely high IQ that think widely different on subjects like vaccines, the immune system, climate and astronomy. Yes, even astronomy.
But because you have studied and are "very smart" the other guy is just deluded.
Global warming? 98% approves this message. And everybody, especially academics, who think otherwise are paid off by big oil. Don't listen to them.
Think immigration has negative effects. You are a nazi and your ideas are dangerous and should have a platform.
How about astronomy? Look into the Velikovsky saga and how your "very smart" academics handled that.
The amount of seethe these outliers generate is immense because the "very smart" academic can't fathom a fellow academic having this opinion. This causes extreme cognitive dissonance. And this is one of the reasons people are so willing to deplatform them.

But hey, what do I know right? I'm obviously a poltard so you can just ignore this message.

Midwits on the other hand are just smart enough to understand that there is an optimal diet - they go on a journey and source their knowledge from the mainstream. Plant-based processed slop or full-blown veganism are the result.
They are not smart enough to question the narrative or to do their own research and they are easily guilt-tripped and manipulated.
Most importantly they are unable to be even slightly ascetic. They can't resist urges for sugar or processed foods, which is what you are required to do when you go on a diet that is only beef, salt and water.
Are those people stupid?
If you believe that such a diet would make you a healthier person, could you sacrifice all that pleasure and prioritize the long-term gratification?

I (sample size 1) was homeschooled by a woman who prevented me from learning the theory of evolution and thought that the world was 10,000 years old and devil spirits control everything and you can heal people through the power of prayer.
The reason was my parents got caught up with a Christian revivalist movement. The reason for that was because they came from small towns and were thrown into the cultural void of the 1970/1980s going to pointless parties they barely enjoyed, absence of all thoughts, my mom's best friend died of drug abuse after years of occasionally calling her in the middle of the night to scream that she was covered in spiders because of the hallucinations brought on by the drugs.
I wasn't even allowed to go online, I could only play videogames by permission on weekends.
No real education budget, just old textbooks secondhand or cheap "science kits" from homeschooling catalogs.
My mom wanted me to have friends so she and other homeschooling mothers would arrange dates for their kids, initially strangers to each other, to meet and play together.
She would often get tired of me asking her followup questions about things and say to stop "cross-examining" her.
I recently took an IQ test and got 132. The average homeschooled kid scores two standard deviations above the average public schooled kid on Iowa exam - even factoring in all of the "unschooling" ones who take it.

Feeding children a vegan diet or a campaign of socialist propaganda retards their development in ways that other bullshit propaganda or social maladjustment simply don't.
It's gotten so bad the recurring cope is that homeschooled kids are "not properly socialized" because those of us who don't immediately cave to peer pressure can't help but look upon the average product of public education with contempt and pity.

Being educated in a public school is on average worse than being raised in a cult.

I used to work in the admissions office of a small public university. Home school kids were on average much quieter than public school kids but when you spoke to them directly, they would engage in adult level conversation and understood concepts that often baffled public school kids.
Some of this might be selection bias as the best public school kids went off to the large public schools or prestigious private schools. My understanding is that the top private schools didn't like home school kids and those kids in general didn't want to attend a large public school far away from home so we got a disproportionate amount of them while the public school students we got tended to be those that didn't have the scores or means to go elsewhere.
Wish I would have thought to run a query on the home school students to see how they progressed. Probably would have been some sort of privacy violation to do so but if I proposed it as a study, likely could have gotten it approved since the cost would have been low as I already knew how to query the data.

This would be true in the position that the person making the decision was fully informed of the dangers involved or swayed by a cult or propganda

I know many people who make it their ideology to discredit vegans because they read a story about someone who literally only eats a super restricted diet and got health problems. E.g., (you).

Look, what I'm saying with my replies is that your premise is wrong and, hence, so is your conclusion. You cannot repair this through further logical fallacies. You are bitter, and that makes you susceptible to groupthink. Heartfelt tip: open up. The real world is a much better place than the www makes you think.

veganism is a mental illness, its an eating disorder

You are a frustrating thing to talk to.
Slimy and smelly.

Vegan diets unless heavily supplemented or carefully balanced are bad for the brain and body.

Pointing to a "hypothetical" group you claim are intelligent and vegan does not negate the fact that vegan diets are bad for us.
A compounding factor in this debate is the role of ideological groups such as the 7th day adventists who exert a massively diproportionate influence over the perception and so called evidence around this whole field of nutrition both a national and global level through their role in educational outreach and various regulatory boards that set nutritional guidelines. Purely because of that group's views on what they call the garden of eden diet which essentially excludes all animal products because they believe them be too exciting and lead to masturbation.

Any truly intelligent and rational induividual in possession of all the facts and untainted by morally driven ideology would be extremely unlikely to choose veganism.
