Can someone tell me what the formula/algorithm is for deciding the Yotsuba stock prices? I would imagine that the relevant variables are $k$ (number of stonks), $n$ (number of anons), $s_{ij}^0$ (number of shares anon $i$ has in stonk $j$ at the CURRENT timestep), and $s_{ij}^1$ (number of shares anon $i$ has in stonk $j$ at the NEXT timestep).

Given those variables, how is $p_j$ (the price of stonk $j$ at the next timestep) decided? If multiple timesteps aren't needed, feel free to only consider one timestep. And bonus points if you can include how they deal with a new anon joining (a new anon joining automatically gets $1000 to play with).

Please and thank you <3

how the fuck do you use LaTeX on this board? And why isn't it fucking included in the sticky?

Also, if someone can tell me if it's basically a zero sum game (ignoring the fact that anons can create new accounts with different IPs through a VPN, etc.), that'd be great.

Fucking phone poster. In the desktop version of the board the math tags are explained right under the new thread form.

I'm a desktop-fag and use 4chanX like any sane individual would. Now decent TeX explanation comes up for me. And ChatGPT doesn't give any good explanation on how to use TeX on /sci/ (neither does Google), so I feel fully justified blaming this shitty board. How am I supposed to RTFM when you don't make the fucking manual at all obvious that even a webscraper won't find it?

pls kys urself. If literally no web scraper can provide info on how to post TeX on /sci/, then the board has fucking failed.

that's literally what I did in the OP you fagguette. But it came out looking like shit. But when I pasted that in literally any actual TeX place ( see >>16107652 ), it comes out totally fine.
TeX on /sci/ is shit. And I wouldn't have such a problem if literally any explanation was provided in any clear capacity how to actually post TeX on this board <.<

then you're a fucking retard. The price absolutely fluctuates according to anons buying behavior. When a stock is super undervalued (e.g. ANIME was valued at $1 at one point), then everyone goes to buy it, and the price raises by a huge amount.
I want an actual answer from someone who's familar with the subject.
And as a comment: assuming everyone was operating optimally (and there were no flaws in the system), then every stock would absolutely be of equal mean value, the how they drift would just be like brownian motion prolly

>drooling anime poster over-complexifies things and unironically thinks this april fool thing is coded to simulate a real stock exchange
obviously people buy when price is low. and if it fluctuates within a range, then after hitting the bottom of the range it must necessarily begin to go up again.

It does seem to be random in intervals. Nothing goes to $1000.

here's what I have at the moment. My naive guess (haven't fact checked this) is that the price of stocks is just the distribution of anons that've bought it. E.g. if 2x the anons have a share in $A over $B, then, $A will have twice the price of $B.

>> No.16107766

Also, yeah. In case anyone didn't know, you start out with $1000 for a new account (which, presumably you stick with [instead of using a VPN, etc.])

Everyone in this thread (that's not me) has severe autism and/or brain damage. I'm not asking how to make money. All I want to know is the algorithm/formula being used to determine the price of a stock. Either the exact algorithm, or approximately what the algorithm is like.
If you want to spurg about buying $CHUCK at $5, go to /biz/

Seconded. Everyone bar me on sci is retarded. This is a well known fact. I have studied people on sci for a decade and have no doubt in this philosophy.
