The rat looking thing (Pakicetus) at the top of the picture is what a Blue Whale used to look like about 50 million years ago. It's classified as an amphibian, but it's basically a water rat that spent most time on land and some time in the shallow water.

There's a Blue Whale at the bottom of the picture and the Pakicetus at the proper scale just above it. It evolved to become about 17 times larger (1.5m long to 25m+ long).
