Meh, that is just overpriced daycare for brainwashed morons who still behave as children.

The probability of finding someone "bright" is higher. But there are instances of fucking geniuses going to no-name universities.

Like this guy here. >>16033092

All in all, some Ivys do have have geniuses like Erik Demaine of MIT, but if you go to a normal uni, there'll be plenty of fucking smart people/geniuses there as well.

The specific program also probably affects things too. Some programs at schools are crazy competitive to get into, you're more likely to find a genius in the CS program at the UW, or in the mech engineering program at NMU

top universities can hire the best professors, the ones with nobels, its like being hired by Real Madrid FC

>> No.16033168

pretty much the only intellectual "golden ticket" to an ivy is something like an IMO medal or a paper published in a mathematical journal. otherwise, they'll choose someone
>wealthier (went to a prep school. this matters more because of the school's name than because of academic rigor)
>with more extracurriculars, especially athletics
>more diverse (meaning a niggertranny who shills for lgbt or whatever)
there's also the fact that these institutions charge ridiculous prices. a state school will be much cheaper and still have good faculty
so, in terms of undergrads, a small slice of "the best and brightest" go to the ivies while a large portion of the academically gifted gets spread out amongst other universities

1/4 of the student's at my sister's ivy league were valedictorians in high school. You tell me if that's indicative of anything or not

>> No.16033181

>>16033169
imo it's indicative of... being studious and not too dumb, in general. that being said, how much it means depends on the high school. getting valedictorian at a high school with no IBs doesn't mean much academically. (APs don't count)

>> No.16033188

>>16033134
My university is sort of like that as well. We're not particularly crazy for most of our grad programs, but are crazy competitive in ECE and regularly pull people from MIT/CalTech because they'd rather work with our professors if they are working on the specific niche we excel at.

>Harvard president is different man who is jewish
>Penn president is a woman who appears to be anti-semetic

>Yale president is a jew
So 3 religious jews. 1 atheist jew. And 1 jew by association. I'll give you 4 jews. Always worth checking these infographics because 99% of the time they're wrong or way out of date which this one seems to be

You can expand your selection of schools to more than JUST the Ivies. Consolation ivies like Brown and Dartmouth are worse schools than places like MIT or Stanford or Chicago
But anyone who says no is coping. Intellectually gifted people don't go to shitter programs

Top researchers don't automatically make good teachers. Furthermore many don't want to teach much anyways so having a Nobel prize means very little in terms of teaching and learning.

I saw a statistic that showed the average iq at an ivy was 125. I think it was Harvard. Anyone that is in has enough intelligence to stay in, not that it means much. Higher average in STEM for sure. Regardless, ivy schools are more about curating interesting characters since they are all fairly bright. So, interesting lore in your essay and extra curriculars that show you aren’t like other girls. Add in the occasional Asian with maxed out stats, but pretty boring otherwise and the actual wunderkinds here and there, boom your average ivy.

If you judge purely by the success of alumni then ivy+(Chicago, MIT, Stanford...) are head and shoulder above others. Sadly, maybe with the exception of UC Berkeley, public colleges trail way behind.
