Your line of thought can be the road to hell paved with good intentions because if you first argue that deviating from the norm is not necessarily wrong but an arbitrary social judgement then to stay consistent you have to argue that suffering can be an an arbitrary social judgement as well. That opens the door for raping women in their sleep.

Instead we need to agree on the axiom that a human has to survive by participating in social interactions and the cost/benefit ratio of such interactions need to be mutual beneficial.
