You can compare with this paper https://pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/37757828/ which finds pakistani and bangladeshis to be 67x more likely to be "highly consanguineous" than white brits, and has a nice analysis of inferred parental relationship which unsurprisingly reveals pakis are inbred as hell. 3rd generation 1st cousin marriage sounds like it might cover uncle-niece. parent child incest should be really obvious and worth a mention, but I guess nobody wants to talk about it.

I believe he was sincere because I checked the twitter account and that guy has a dozen multi-author papers investigating inbreeding in historic and modern populations and worked in scotland and had access to the UK biobank. now maybe he made a slip with "6k times", and we don't know which group he is referring too, but it is fun to speculate unless you happen to be from a suspected population.

That doesn't help, but the cousin marriage specifically is just a continuation of cultural practices from the home countries. Muslims in Bradford are from one of the poorest parts of Pakistan - https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/British_Mirpuris, all because of a stupid deal to build a dam and get cheap workers for the cotton mills which subsequently closed. Cousin marriage was also partly reinforced by family reunification visas - if your child basically gets one free visa through marriage to someone back home are you going to give it away to someone outside the family?
