Before about WWII Americas top unis were well behind Europe in terms of research. Rightfully so, considering America as we know it is an extremely young country compared to Europe. It was taught predominantly in Germany, which was absolutely elite at academic endeavors. Seriously, all of them learned at German universities. Yes, Oppenheim, yes, Teller, yes, von Neumann etc etc. Feynman may be an exception I don't know enough about him, but he wasn't the brightest there.
The eliteness was completely deconstructed after(!) WW2 thanks to the US and the Soviets kidnapping the best scientists. The Jewish scientists, obviously, fled long before the end of the war.

I don't really care, I didn't get vaxxed but wore masks. I didn't feel the need to act like a fucking child about it. I also understand how having something is better than nothing, cuts on viral load if anything, both ways. in absolute terms you can argue shit gets in and out, just that not as easy. some of it is bound to stay on the mask, and socially I see it as good. it shows you're making a fucking effort, the least fucking bit of it. even if I don't agree I can play along just because not everyone else thinks like I do, I have to give up some shit, and putting a fucking mask on is pretty cheap for me.

"Intelligence" is not enough. I could go back in time 50k and bring a 120 IQ caveman to 2023, that doesnt mean he'll be able to graduate college, or even highschool.
