He's half, but Frederick McKinley Jones actually made a fairly sizable contribution to society with the invention of the refrigerated truck unit. Not something that most people spend a lot of time thinking about, but refrigerated trailers and cargo containers are super important for the transportation of perishable food and that was invented by a half-black man.
