is it a branch of philosophy

>> No.15922563

There is no general consensus among mathematicians about a common definition for their academic discipline.

>> No.15922567

More like a branch of ontology and logic.

Math is just applied IQ.

separate from something like science which is a branch of epistemology.

inb4 that one low functioning autist enters the thread and says logic can't deduce ontological statements

Math is the opposite of philosophy.

Math:
>rigorous methodology
>provides logical proof for its claims
>establishes objective truth
>expands our knowledge
>describes complicated stuff as concise as possible

Philosophy:
>no methodology at all, any retard can claim to be a philosopher
>never justify their bullshit, expect you to believe it dogmatically
>deny and attack the notion of truth itself
>proud of spreading ignorance ("I know that I know nothing")
>introduces illusionary linguistic complexity to trivial statements in order to appear pseudointellectual

The sheer breadth of philosophical inference eludes your brainlet ass. Philosophy does all that and more, you just have to pin down the branch and study it. Ontology for instance studies abstractness itself not just numbers and quanitities like math is specialized in.

Shitty philosophers are like that. Philosophy itself is non-empirical logic. Mathematics is just a rigorous and rigidly defined field of that.
