Im a first time write to /sci/, and I just needed a bit of information. Im in high school, entering AP Physics B. I am also enrolled in only Algebra II, will this math coarse be enough for what I'll be doing in Physics?

so Im royally fucked?

You need calculus for AP physics. However, the calculus you need will be very simple and you can probably learn it in the physics class.

I took AP physics without taking Calc and did fine. The calc you will use is going to be like the simplest calculus you can learn.

thanks, so all I have to do is apply myself immensely?

Yes. I am afraid you don't have what it takes to succeed in AP Physics B classes in High School.

what math class did you take?

You really dont, the majority of the math will just be algebra. Youll only occasionally have to do a few bits of calculus. But like I said, unless your teacher is a douche, they will teach you the calc you need, you can easily learn it in like 15 minutes.

AP Physics B is algebra based, AP Physics A is calculus based.

you give me so much hope and joy, thank you so much

If you took normal physics and did good and loved it, then you will do good in AP physics

Im only a junior, Im coming straight from Chemistry. But I do love physics
