A PhD is the new bachelors.

By 2030 the norm for an upper middle class STEM job will be two PhD's

What are the scientific implications of this?

tl;dr preamble and background:
~I am a 130 IQ+ polymath and master of STEM holding two interdisciplinary masters of science covering the apex of several interrelated fields. Both include artificial intelligence and one probes the base level of reality. I am on track for Oppenheimer tier. Every paper I have produced has delivered the human race new knowledge beginning in my undergraduate. I also hold an 8.5 inch penis and am 6ft, educated in London, England and speak multiple languages. I am physically fit and have a biological life expectancy exceeding 175. My current girlfriend has graduate level mathematics degrees from a tier one university and works for a tier one professional firm. She was an Olympiad candidate.

I am regularly being credential MOGGED by people two multiple PhDs. I have worked with several now and discover more when snooping on linkedin for jobs I would like.

The very top of STEM is now DOMINATED by dual PhD holders in my professional opinion.

What is it with these universities you can apply to alongside Oxbridge (and reject once get an offer) always trying to make 'St.DoxbridgeLSEI+'

By the very nature of UCAS only allowing applications to one and them being the only universities interviewing undergraduates writes into gospel the natural order of graduates by construction.

He thinks getting a job at Deloitte is that difficult kek.

The fact you obsess about 'scores' in job applications tells me you have never even had an internship, leave a real job, as you would realise 'academic credentials' are nothing more than a small check-box in an automated filtering system, and once you get over that hurdle the only thing between you and employment is being able to sell your experience (which will cover far more skills needed for all STEM jobs than grade-inflated daycare centres).

But you are right it is multitudes of times more difficult and competitive to get a job at Deloitte than take the path of least resistance due to a weak professional profile so stay into grad school where they admit almost everyone who applies to work minimum wage in their labs.

Lol I bring this up whenever a retarded european says something about American education. Your well-regarded Oxford has an offer rate of nearly 20% lmao. We don't even talk about universities with double digit offer rates in the States. That's why 100 of the Top 100 universities globally are on American soil, run by Americans, for Americans, by Americans. Period.

The United States of America is the greatest nation mankind has ever witnessed. Europeans get angry when this is pointed out to them but what are they gonna do? Raise their 200 man standing "army" against us and tell us to vacate our bases (which are on your soil lmao)? Without the United States of America, you would be speaking Russian, your parents and grandparents would've been speaking Russian, and your great grandparents would've either fled to greener pastures (The United States of America) or surrendered to the USSR.

We fucking rock. Don't care what you have to say about it either. America is the best nation the world has ever seen.

Here in Norway (and probably most of Europe) the new standard is master's.
You have a master's in STEM, you have a guaranteed job (if your country has that industry).
You have a bachelor's, you might get a job if you're lucky or outstanding.
A PhD is just for research, R&D and academia... or ending up as a high school teacher

having a 2nd PhD looks worse than just having one, because by that point you should be enough of an independent researcher that you can just go and publish in a field without having to actually go through the entire PhD process again. it would also raise questions on why you didn't just go do a postdoc, and why you chose to debase yourself getting paid below poverty wages for a 2nd time.

How long have you been cooming, OP?

A few years back I was having a conversation with my parents about condom use and sexual health. At that time in my life, I had just realized that condoms were not a 'one size fits all' affair, and learned to find the proper fitting ones for myself. I was talking about how much more comfortable it felt with the right fit, and my mom said, "you know, we heard about condoms when we were young but nobody really used them. They were called rubbers then."
"Yeah, and before they were called condoms, they used to be called French Letters" my father added.
I had never heard of either of these terms (remember, I was an undersexed nerd until relatively recently) and the conversation shifted towards how much more comfortable the newer thinner styles are compared to the ones they remembered from their youth. It was all pretty amusing.
So flash forward a few years, and I'm working on my computer at home when my friend comes over to hang out. He's standing behind me watching me play some game or other, and he sees an icon on my desktop for my graphics card's control panel. My graphics card is a Radeon 9800, so the control panel is named the Catalyst Control Centre. The icon is an 'CCC' logo.
Now, in our circle of friends the letter combination CCC is used in chatrooms and IMs as a shortcut for 'can't contain cum' since it's quicker to type. My friend saw the icon and, not knowing what Catalyst was, made the assumption that it stood for can't contain cum. So he asked me "What's Klondom Control Centre?"
The word klondom instantly became a part of our vocabulary. To this day we call condoms klondoms, and the joke has never gotten old. The best part is when you're with someone who doesn't know the story, and you use the word klondom without any explanation. They get really confused.
So now you know. And knowing is half the battle.

Something like 80% of all peer reviewed papers don't benefit the humanity and basically exist for the sake of existing. Trying to get a PhD thereby is a waste of effort, time, and money, because the probability that the research you do and the paper you write, having a meaningful impact on the world is practically non-existent.

Bachelor's is enough to get your foot into the door, then you gain experience within the real world, go back for your masters, come back and gain even more experience, and then maybe go for a PhD if you really want that doctor title. But a straight PhD is a bridge to nowhere and generally worthless.
