Fahrenheit is the most human friendly scale and makes the most sense for day-to-day life since normal temperatures are within a better range (0-100 rather than -20-40). Since continental Europeans and third worlders have no soul it's only natural they'd ignore that in favor of "but it's based on the freezing point of water" which is a meaningless feature that doesn't make the scale any easier to use, since even when that information is relevant everyone who uses Fahrenheit knows what those values are.

Kelvin is likewise bad for day-to-day use since you only get to normal temperatures in the high 200's. In a perfect world (i.e. one without France) we'd be using Rankine for scientific work.
