>muh ADHD must mean I'm secretly genius!
Is this true /sci/?

>> No.15661968

"mental illness" and "brain damage" are synonymous terms
just like "developmentally delayed" and "retarded" are
if your brain malfunctions then you are low iq by definition
it wouldn't be called a disease or a disorder if it wasn't harmful
people who get these diagnoses willfully ignore the blatantly obvious fact that mental illness = low iq as a coping mechanisms

>>15661968
If someone with these brain damages performed average intellectually in life and were given ailments to said illness would that make them high IQ?

Yes it is true. Why do you ask?

People with autism have malfunctioning brains, yet they're the ones that are represented the most in high iq. Your argument is retarded.

>if your brain malfunctions then you are low iq by definition
iq is just a number generated by performing an arbitrary test. If your assertion was correct ONLY something that caused you to score lower in such a test would even be considered brain damage, which is transparently false is empirical observation

Don't argue with the retard. Just ignore him and he will go away. Unironically, this picture is true for retards lol. More you feed him, more he posts. Don't give attention to those who seek it.

the part in silver linings playbook might be a tad true. they might understand a few things that normies don't understand.

quote was like ' maybe people me and donnie might understand things that you don't'

we're creatures of light. you see things from different angles.

the fact that you got your special snowflake diagnosis, but it only indicates that your brain doesn't work right really upsets you, doesn't it?
maybe just figure out how behave like a decent person without relying on excuses from a doctor and you won't have to deal with the implications of having malfunctioning and reduced mental capability
grow up
learn how to act like a big boy

Most mental illnesses don't work like that, except in your case of mental retardation.

is your idea of behaving like a decent person posting about brain damage incessantly on a message board?

lots of ADHD threads lately.

I genuinely wonder why. Is it a work of a troll (and maybe copycats) or somehow the topic just took on popularity based off previous threads, like a snowball effect?

>Is it a work of a troll (and maybe copycats) or somehow the topic just took on popularity based off previous threads,
I think it's the former. Really, the pareto principle applies pretty smoothly on 4chan when you want to discuss the ratio of thread creators to total userbase. I would even figure that maybe 2 or 3 % of all 4chan users are responsible for 95 % of all threads, at least on some boards. /sci/ was flooded with IQ threads, nearly a dozen of these threads were active at any given moment, and that pretty much disappeared because the one guy who posted them all just went inactive.
