Yeah it was ridiculous seeming him pose as a vaccine expert when he was never even capable of doing research in his own field. How could he possibly be intelligent enough to grasp the science in field he never studied when he devoted well over a decade of his life to studying astronomy and still ended up too ignorant of the topic to contribute meaningfully to the field?

all the "science communicators" are the same. Him and many others typically grift on astrophysics because its a science that people are the most interested in having people explain to them in the most basic terms so they can imagine stuff better but dont have to learn anything.
this kind of imagery-based, metaphorical approach to disseminating science (if earth was the size of a marble..... it would be so far away) is a lot harder and more fraught with complete bungling when you're tasked with science disciplines that have implications beyond telling people that a billion is a really big number and even though i can imagine it, its probably hard for you.
