a) it cares about speed; nobody gave a shit if einstein wrote general relatively in 2 days or 2 weeks; it is about correctness above else
b) patterns in nature are rarely symmetrical; your 3X3 pattern almost never exists in nature; the questions assume you'll assume that.
c) it can be trained; mathematicians routinely score high; even toddlers can be trained to beat other toddlers very easily.

It probably would have mattered if Einstein took 7x more time to discover general relativity since he only had one lifetime to figure it out.

Have you considered that mathematicians score high because they already have high IQ?

Sorry your score is so low, anon. Try being less retarded next time

1)Somebody correct me If I'm wrong (Since I haven't taken an IQ tests with a psych) but when Psychiatrists administer a full IQ test like WAIS, they give you ample time to finish. In fact, lower IQ people take lesser time to finish because earlier on, they hit the ceiling and just give up. High IQs take more time on the exams.
2)It is more the ability to recognize oattern that is tested. Your brain doesn't have a separate mechanism for identifying 3x3 matrix patterns and identifying patterns in nature. It's all the same mechanism, so if you're good at one, you're good at the other.
3) That's why only the first attempt at IQ testing is considered valid. Psychs don't administer it multiple times for the same person. And even if you practice, the bump will not be significant enough. You can't train to be a 130 IQ when in reality you are a 80 IQ. But you may be able to pull it off at 120.

i had a specialist administered test when i was four to rule out retardation and no joke there was a processing speed evaluation category that tanked my score by a whole 40 points, apparently. anyway yeah it took another 18 years to get ADHD meds

confirmed for having only taken an online IQ test and believed the results

Stupid people rely on patterns, smart people figure out how things work.
