Explain how the object is seen by the mirror in regards to how the light is hitting the object. I can't fathom it.

Mirror is not an entity, you are
Light illuminates the whole room, some of those photon torpedos hits your eye and your hecking synapses tell you that the object is there

My brain/eyes put the object in the mirror?

I need a diagram on this.

I knew that science can't explain magnets, but it can't explain mirrors either?!?!?!?!

Ridiculous, the egg is completely blocked and even at extreme angles you could only see the edges
>>15528934
Le virtual image isnt an explanation. Mirrors don't work when light can't reach them.

>> No.15529187

>>15528957
Magnetism is just an empirical fact of nature. It can be described but never explained, unless you do a semantic trick of calling a description an explanation

>You only see the edges
And that's (almost) correct, you can only see the side of the egg that can be reflected towards you.
>Mirrors don't work when light can't reach them.
Light can reach the mirror in this case...

>> No.15529218

>>15529187
So you are saying that nothing can be explained but only described ?
If i ask "why does shade repel light" the question is not any different to "why does magnet repel another magnet"

It can be described in terms of other things. The rabbit hole doesn't go on forever, at the bottom theres just a description of an observation.

The "classical" explanation I've heard is the iron atoms become oriented such that their combined magnetic dipoles produce the net magnetic field of the bar magnet. It's why dropping a bar magnet will cause it to lose some overall magnetic field strength, since the dipole alignment get randomized.

That's just a symptom of magnetism, it doesn't explain magnetism itself.
