You can create a transparent multilayer stack structure with ever increasing refractive index n that causes a smooth bending of the light. To bend light you must modify the k vector of light. The way to do this is by creating a retarding effect on light velocity. You do that as described above with material science or...

you have a large star that warps space and changes the metric of space casuing light to appear to bend when its just following a straight line through that warped space.

Not at all, have you heard how they defined light?

>is there a way to bend light in the same way we can bend electron beams with a magnetic field?
No "bend", no "wave", no "magnetism"...no light. You get nothing, you lose.

>>15504320
You really could not find one single paper about light: the electroMAGNETIC phenomena?

>>15504322
>>15504320
Typically things are defined in less than a paragraph, at least if you want to fit it into a dictionary. Yet still to this day you will find hundreds of thousands of papers, all of which tell you "lol we don't know how light works".

The problem is nobody goes looking for the answer when they think they already have it. "Light doesn't bend" you see, it only does that when you introduce an illogical dualism. Oh it also travels "in a vacuum" without negating said vacuum in the first place...yes somehow it does that. I'm sure you'll find that info in one of those aforementioned papers that doesn't explain how light works.

Thanks for all the responses anons, my plan is too create a sort of CRT tv but instead of a magnetic field bending an electron gun through a mask and hitting a phosphors, I wanted to bend a UV laser with something to hit a quantum dot (the fluorescent chemical) array and create and image.

>> No.15504670

>>15504660
The reason CRTs use electrons is so it's easier to make multicoloured output signals because of the easily measured voltage recieved from one electron, photons will provide multiple quantized energy levels you'll have to measure, and you'll have to be specific with the output of your phosphors.

If you're specifically talking about a laser, then we normally do this by choosing a material with an index of refraction that will cause the light rays to be attracted to where you want to focus it (however, you have to be careful since under certain conditions this can create instabilities and lead to optical collapses and similar)

They don't explain it. The vast majority of them even assume it "has a speed" and "travels" despite no experiment ever proving it.

The subject I am speaking about has no "foundation". None of these theories explain what light is, let alone prove it does the batshit insane shit described. These theories, "quantum" or otherwise are the equivalent of schizo infographs, but with more numbers, theorizing and paywalls. Ask any one of them to explain what "quantum" even refers to in reality and they start shitting bricks because they don't even have the causal link to "quanta" in the first place.

You cited sources that are too stupid to understand what light is. That's why they're still perplexed by the question to this day. Some even ask the same question, which makes your disingenuous statement to:
>"hurr go read a quantum mechanic book"
moot.

It's like Mormon telling me to read the book of Mormonism because I'm too "stupid" to understand his deep, but still radically insane ideas on the fundamental nature of how reality functions. I know you don't have proof of a light particle, just as I know that a Mormon doesn't have proof of the Angel Moron(i). Neither have proof of these alleged phantasms they believe in. One of them is dumb enough to apply the scientific method to such shadow chasing.
I am not going to waste my precious short time on this earth reading whatever insane gibberish that justifies, reifies and more or less acts like a coping talisman to believe in what never had basis in reality in the first place. Pony up or shut up you book learned moron.

>A textbook on quantum mechanics will go through and document both the wave and particle models of light, which is the best answer we have right now.
It's a non answer in the form of a dualism, of which both sides of the duality are not even empirically proven to exist. A "wave" being not even something in the first place, and your magic bumping particle of which has never been shown to exist, and could not even exist if left independent/isolated.

>If you want something more precise, consider a job in the field so you can innovate it yourself.
Knowledge is not a job. The reason everyone is becoming retarded wagies is because scientists treat it like one.

Except for the part that it still explains why this dual nature exists. It's very obvious you've never even tried to engage with this subject matter before throwing it out.
>Knowledge is not a job. The reason everyone is becoming retarded wagies is because scientists treat it like one.
Knowledge comes with experience, and experience can be obtained by having a job. You can also obtain that knowledge by picking up a textbook or two to answer your questions. If you're going to continue embarrassing yourself like this, then I must say goodbye.

Neither "exists" to even be spoken of, the "explanation" is therefore going to be complete religious poppycock. What you would call an "interpretation" (secularized metaphysics), but this interpretation is based on a non experiment that only tested one theory of the Aether and caused all the others to be thrown out with the bathwater based on a null result. This on top of assuming light had a speed to begin with before even understanding how it functions.
The Aether is undetectable, nothing specific, pure potential. It's never going to present itself as an object to be tested. The same correlation can be made of "dark matter", "zero-point"....there's a million names they give their lack of detectable "quantified phenomena" for, but using the term "Aether" is like using the N-word for some reason.
