Cats fully understand English. It’s pattern recognition. It’s not that difficult.

Inevitably over time they learn and become wholly fluent.

Meet an extremely old cat and you’ll see.
Flat out if we give cats hands, and voice boxes, and the ability to live as long as we do… they’ll become just like us.

It must happen. I choose animal rights.

Cats have the intelligence of a 2-3 year old human.
They are capable of learning words and button experiments have shown the ability to communicate with language and put events in sequence.

They don't seem to comprehend syntax, just individual words and names.

A relative notion of intelligence.

Ask yourself what happens when a cat lives to 100 and fully develops.

Like the point about relative intelligence is crucial.

There’s infinite kinds of intelligence.
If it can talk and it has true community, it has all potential.

We can say all adults have the intelligence of 4 year olds in relative areas.

Cats live 13-20 years when well taken care of, but their brains finish developing very quickly.
It wouldn't matter if a cat lived 1000 years, it's not capable of moving beyond a limited vocab with no syntax. That's not how brains work.
>We could say all adults have the intelligence of a 4 year old in certain areas
You could say that but you'd be incredibly wrong.
You're conflating knowledge with intelligence.

>You're conflating knowledge with intelligence.
I hate seeing this, its such a dimwit view of reality.

Reminds me of this picture I saw, a guy "found" some baby bunnies and there was a closed bottle of water next to them with a caption of "they wont drink". This detached, ego-centered, view or others. Like a child that cant understand why someone else cant see what the child sees when talking on the phone.

Brains are constantly refining.

Are y’all Jews merely upset that cats won’t be your slaves?

Is it the Holocaust if cats start evolving and realizing it was the Jew keeping them down? Or maybe y’all can just take a hint.

I honestly feel your perspective of what intelligence is… is sus.

And so what if they’re like 3 year olds?

People don’t actually exists to be your slaves.

I agree 100%. My cat is so smart, she learns "tricks" instantly, but does only the ones she likes. Never had a problem with her regarding anything and she's cuddly as can be. All friends and family have said she has a person-type of demeanor/look.
Took her in from a shelter, but she adapted rather quicly.

I feel will treat each other better when animals are treated better.

Cultured-meat/lab-grown meat helps make meat free and tastier also

What the fuck do I gotta do for it to happen

I insist as hard as hard gets

What animals endured is WRONG.

yes in a basic way. my cat understands some single words that are also sounded in a certain pitch. the cat speaks them as well. words are:
hello
go out
foodies (of course this one lol)
NO
her name (brings her running for food)

the best one is hello. when she started doing it i was quite shocked.
